Ways for Contributors to Use
Divine Stories of the Yahweh Sisterhood
to Promote Their Writing/Ministry:
to Promote Their Writing/Ministry:
- Book signing: Let your local bookstore know about your involvement in the book and set up a book signing. Use a flyer or business card about your ministry as a bookmark for your signed story.
- Excerpt: Since we only contracted for reprint rights, you can submit your story or poem to magazines and websites. In your bio, mention that your story was featured in the book. You can also mention your website.
- Friends and Family: Send copies of the book to your friends and family with information for how they can purchase additional copies.
- Fundraiser: If you are part of a group (church group, PTA, sports coach, etc), consider selling the book as part of a fundraiser.
- Holidays: Mother’s Day (May 14th) and Friendship Day (August 6th) are great times to promote your participation in the book. Talk to your local bookstore or library about doing a reading from the book. You could even organize a reading or recitation (with other local writers and poets) to celebrate these special days. If your church is having a special celebration, the book would be an ideal gift for your honored guests.
- Press Release: Send a press release to your local media, highlighting your involvement in the book. (Note: One of our contributors did this and has already had two stories written about her in local newspapers.)
- Small Group: Start a small group and read through the book together. It’s a great way to bless old and new friends.
- Speaking Engagements: Let local writers’ groups, poetry groups, book clubs, Bible studies, women’s retreats, etc. know about your involvement in the book. Tell them you would be willing to speak at their next function. Then sell the book at the event.
- Website: If you don’t already have one, a website would be a great way for you to promote your involvement in the book. You could even start a blog, ministering to people on the same subjects that you wrote about in the book.
